As Black men who love St. Louis and believe that its best days are ahead of us, we are proud to support Cori Bush for re-election to Congress. From the moment that Congresswoman Bush entered office, she has shown a level of boldness and wisdom that is as rare as it is inspiring. She is a powerful advocate for justice and a champion for the communities that she serves. Congresswoman Bush is the only candidate in the race that has a proven record of showing up for us. She is driven not by what is most convenient, but by what is right. We consider St. Louis fortunate to have such principled leadership in Congress.
For as long as Cori Bush has been in public life, she has endured attacks that question her competence, her decency, and her integrity. Like many Black women whom we love and respect, these attacks have too often been tinged with familiar vitriol. While it does not surprise us, it is disappointing that there are some Black men who gladly exploit the opportunity of these unfair attacks for their own gain. But we are honored to stand by Congresswoman Bush as she continues to display the kind of political courage and moral clarity that this district deserves.
We will stand with Cori Bush on August 6, and we hope that you will, too.
